Dr. Joseph Russo is a licensed chiropractor committed to helping patients in Greer, SC achieve the health and wellness they deserve.
With over thirty years of experience, Dr. Russo has a strong command of chiropractic, evidence-based modalities including low-level laser therapy, ultrasound and infrasound therapies, electrical muscle stimulation, traction, x-ray diagnostics, and more. He specializes in the Gonzales Rehabilitation Technique (now called Quantum Neurology) which was named after his mentor, the well-respected chiropractor, Dr. George Gonzales of Los Angeles, CA. The technique utilizes a gentle, non-forceful, rapid tapping device that corrects dysfunctions of the spine known as vertebral subluxations.
While Dr. Russo is skilled in correcting spinal subluxations, he also specializes in addressing dysfunctions in the extremities (the shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, ankles, and feet) and is particularly adept at relieving frozen shoulder syndrome. He also regularly provides successful treatment for a number of conditions from neck pain to sciatica and auto injuries.
Using careful diagnosis, Dr. Russo will identify any potential subluxations you may have, in addition to helping you discover any lifestyle or postural factors that could contribute to your pain. He'll work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Your multidisciplinary treatment could also include the expertise of the other health-care providers at the Mountain View Chiropractic Clinic; Sherrie Templeton, a licensed massage therapist, and Janet Lee, a registered nurse and certified health coach specializing in drugless weight loss.
Dr. Russo was drawn to his profession after witnessing how chiropractic treatments relieved his brother's non-responsive asthma. Under the care of a chiropractor, his brother went from being a weak, wheezing patient on seven different asthma medications daily to a strong, effortlessly breathing person. "The next thing I knew, I was on a train coming south to chiropractic school. I was determined to find out why my brother got better," Dr. Russo recalled.
In 1978, he graduated magna cum laude and class valedictorian from the prestigious Sherman College of Chiropractic. A year later, he married his wife, Ann, and they later had a wonderful son named Brandon. Now, Dr. Russo and his wife enjoy spending time with their son, daughter-in-law Ashley, and their new baby granddaughter, Penny Grace.
Dr. Russo believes the most rewarding part of practicing chiropractic is hearing patients say they're starting to feel better about themselves after care, especially when other disciplines have failed to produce the patient's desired results. He enjoys the enriching experience of bringing "new life, new hope, and new meaning" to individuals in Greer, SC.
